I did my first Civil War Diary block this morning before work. I used to sew a lot in the mornings until I changed jobs and my commute got a lot longer. It's amazing how much you can accomplish in a half hour or forty five minutes every morning. Of course, I should be exercising in the morning, but that's another story!

Again, my photography leaves much to be desired - I'm working on it though. The block is much straighter in person that the picture makes it look.
I only have the Civil War Diary book (and CD) so for now I am only going to do blocks from that book. Since everyone else is working on Love Letter blocks this week, I hope to finish the first 7 War Diary blocks this weekend so I am caught up with those. Then when the next 7 are posted, I will do them over a two week period instead of one week.

Welcome to blogland Caryn!!! OhMyGosh! You're doing the civil war blocks! I'm seeing them all over lately. I need to check out that book and see what all the excitement is about -- your block looks great! I would love to do a project like that (Civil War or Dear Jane) but need to wait until my busy spring slows down into summer. What is the sew many blocks web ring? Is that just for the civil war blocks? Anyway, can't wait to see lots more excitement here!!!
Welcome to Blogland! This is a nice place to be, indeed. I'm also in the CWD thing, so I'll follow your work. I intend to make one block a week or so, and only on the CWD book. Must finish some other projects...
I only have the CWDQ book, and I will be making that quilt like you. One book is enough for me!
Love this block and welcome to the ring. I have been going back and forth between the books and have about 20 blocks marked that I cannot wait to piece. Enjoy
Welcome to blogland Caryn! I joined the Sew Many Blocks ring today, and ordered the CWD book today! I can't wait until my book arrives so I can join in the fun!
